What is ETP?

ETP (Electronic Transfer of Prescriptions) is a service which allows your GP to send a prescription electronically to a pharmacy which has been nominated by you.

What if i need to change pharmacy or I’m not in the local area?

You can change your pharmacy at any time. Just speak to our staff who will be able to assist you through the process. If you are not able to collect your medicine from the pharmacy, we can return your prescription to the network where your local pharmacist can download and dispense it.

How does this affect me?

You can continue to request your prescriptions as you normally would however you will no longer need to queue up at the surgery to collect your prescriptions. This is because your GP will know where to send your prescriptions. Your pharmacy will be able to download your prescription via a secure network and have your medicine ready for you to collect.

Can someone nominate me or collect medicine on my behalf?

Yes. We would ask them to confirm your name and address and when necessary any other required information.
